General

Drvenik is situated on the way from Split to Dubrovnik (Dalmatia), 24 km south-east from Makarska. Drvenik lays in two bays (Gornja vala and Donja vala) Inhabitants work in fishing, vine growing, olive growing and tourism. Nice afforested bays with springs of drink water gives it special charm. It is an important traffic center while there is a car ferry landing of the ferry connecting the island of Hvar with the coast. The rich gastronic offer of Dalmatian taverns and the beautiful beaches in the shade of pines attract an increasing number of tourists to Drvenik inviting them to spend their holidays there.

DRVENIK

DRVENIK (43° 09'N; 17° 15'E), village in the cove of the same name on the Makarska Riviera, at the point where the Hvar Channel enters the Neretva Channel.

Mooring: The small harbour is exposed to southerlies end southwesterlies (the sirocco can be troublesome in its NW part). The pier is reserved for the car-ferry. Smaller yachts can anchor in the E part of the cove (it is recommended with lines secured anchore).

Facilities

  • Food supplies and water (restricted);
  • Repairs to smaller vessels in a privately owned boat-yard.
