General
The Morbihan ("ar mor bihan" is Breton for "the little sea") is a wonderful sailing location particularly for traditional craft, with a variety of good anchorages and ports.
Marinas and Anchorages
Port Crouesty
This is located near the entrance and is a modern marina, catering mainly for modern craft.
Vannes
This marina is on the inland side has less obviously attractive facilities near the heart of the town.
L'Armor-Baden
This marina offers good facilities, with two slips and a friendly welcome.
Other
Small harbours abound, from Sene (where the Fete des Voiles Rouges is held in July/August) to Le Bono, a small drying harbour on the Auray River.
Le Logeo on the Presqu'ile de Rhuys has very limited facilities, but is very friendly, especially towards traditonal craft, with a good restaurant on the quayside. The slip is excellent, the anchorages limited. The multitude of islands offer great interest.
The Ile d'Arz is particularly attractive, with the best approaches from the east. La Semaine du Golfe, a well-known sailing festival, is in May.
Things to be careful of include: the motor cruisers, which seem to abound in high season; the mussel beds, which are everywhere; and the very fast tidal streams, particularly near the entrance.
