General
Marbella is an upmarket city in Andalusia, Spain, by the Mediterranean, situated in the region of Málaga, beneath the Sierra Blanca. In 2000 the city had 98,823 inhabitants, in 2004, 116,234.
Marbella is an important beach resort of the Costa del Sol. The town is famous for being a favourite destination for extremely wealthy tourists from Northern Europe. The area around Marbella is particularly popular with those who like Golf.
Approaches, Routes and Navigation
Strong S to SW winds will make the entrance hazardous. The Sierra Blanca mountain range will be seen from a distance followed by the mass of tower blocks surrounding the marina which lies immediately south of the lighthouse. Be aware of the fishing platform at 36º 30' N 4º 52'.4 W. Enter between the breakwaters giving them a good berth. Secure at the fuelling station to port and ask for a berth a the control tower.

Weather
Marbella Weather Forecast Marbella enjoys a micro-climate. It renders an average temperature of 19ºC throughout the year. Winters are mild with relatively little precipitation and summers are warm but not too hot. It only rains occasionally from November to March (the rain being insignificant the rest of the year), the wind blows frequently from the East and the weather is sunny more than 320 days a year.

A small marina surrounded by tourist developments. The marina can be noisy at night during the summer months. Wind from the east, south and southwest can produce a heavy swell within the harbour. Be prepared to double up on lines.
Local Area - Beaches on either side of the marina but these get very crowded during the summer months. The town itself is well worth exploring.
