Going sailing? Think it's a lot more fun to do it in with a couple of other boats? Tell people here, someone surely would love to join you

Add the dates, the place, how long the cruise will take, any other information and what you are looking for, i.e. racing, relaxing, how many miles per day, etc.

Please don't forget to delete entries once you've had your trip and don't forget to add information to the relevant pages, others would appreciate it.

The Riddle of the Sands

What/Where? 'The Riddle of the Sands'. The idea has been in my head for some months and I've started collecting information. The gathered info has encouraged me further. Skippers I've spoken to recommend it highly. Boats with bilge keels or lifting keels will be at an advantage as it will be very tempting to dry out near the numerous nature reserves etc. I'm assured the channels are exceptionally well buoyed and the creeks well staked with withies.

When? North Holland schools break-up 3rd week in June. I'm undecided and fairly flexible. Update; we will depart Northumberland in company with another boat on the eve of July 20th

I will cross the North Sea (270M for me) only if 3 days of reasonable weather is forecast. I'm not thinking of it as a flotilla, more a sail-in-company if the day's destination and route appeals. If it doesn't, then boats keep in touch by radio or mobile phone and meet up from time to time. (By the way, if the forecast is unpleasant at kick off time, Plan B is to head north and muck about in the Caledonian Canal) --Ed Wingfield 10:36, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
