General
One of the first pleasure crafts harbours in the Mediterranean Sea, pioneer in Spain, which contributed to spread the name of Marbella, all the world through. Established in 1970 by D. José Banús, today is under the chairmanship of D. Alberto Vidiella, helped by the deputy counselor D. José Figueroa and the manager D. Leonardo Llorente.
Stroll by Puerto Banús piers, watch the huge yachts, coming from every country in the world, as the Nabila or the Shaft, or look from the piers the sails of the yachts while racing, or the fast motor boats of the Offshore bewildering the visitors. The crowd wandering through, with the rumour of different languages making pleasing what a minute before sound strange.
The commercial offer, bringing from everywhere the last fashion, increased now with the establishment of El Corte Ingles Departments Store. The gastronomy, offering from the most genuine Malagueñan cuisine, with its tasty fishes, to that of remote countries, as well as the international French, or the typical Mexican or Indian.
Numerous night bars and the typical Spanish bodegas where you can taste the famous Spanish wines and enjoy the "tapas";. The international Marbella Casino, is the compel appointment for the game's lovers, or those who wants to try their luck for the firt time.
The massive presence of celebrities of the most miscellaneous activities, those beautiful women, who show their fantastic grace amongst the marine atmosphere of the Puerto Banús. The recent opening of its Club de Mar, is another addition to the charm, talent and professionality which place Puerto Banús as one of the best in the world and have to be considered as the most representative spot in the Costa del Sol. The nearness of hotels, apartments, golf courses, other yacht harbours, airport, etc. make it an exceptional position.
Approaches, Routes and Navigation
From afar look for the solitary peak of Pico de la Cocha, called Sierra de Marbella on admiralty charts. Closer and you will see some yellow tower blocks that are 2 miles to the west, then a white flagged pole terrace and the bullring to the east are conspicuous. Round the western end of the outer breakwater and enter the harbour on an easterly course. The control tower is on your left. Secure alongside and ask for a berth.

The marina of the rich and famous and the prices reflect this. Whitewashed, Andalucian style building surround the marina, hosting boutiques, bars, restaurants and night clubs. There are several Yacht Charter and Yacht Brokerage operations within the marina complex. Water & Electric - On the pontoons Security - Open pontoons, but the complex has security patrols and automatic barriers restrict traffic to authorised vehicles only. Wi-Fi Internet - No, but there is an internet cafe within the complex.
